Ballinamallard 1-0 Portadown

It was back to winning ways for the Mallards with a hard fought win. In a game of few clear cut chances it was a penalty on 34 minutes that decided matters. Sean McEvoy showed great determination down the right and drove into the penalty area before being fouled and Captain Richard Clarke scored from the spot yet again. In the first half Kevin Branniff headed over the Ports best chance but it was the Mallards who were having more of the ball. That changed in the second half however and the visitors had more possession, but despite several good chances they couldn't make it count. Duke, Branniff and Carmichael all wasted great opportunities as the Mallards threw bodies in the way of everythin

Ballinamallard 1-2 Carrick Rangers

Carrick kept up their promotion push and bounced back from Monday nights defeat with another vital 3 points. The first half was very limited in chances with both sides evenly matched, but it was the Mallards who were to strike first on 39 minutes. Chris Kelly picked up a loose ball and threaded a pass through to Ryan Campbell who fired past Aaron Hogg. Rangers equalised on 53 minutes with Caolan Loughran's strike from distance finding it's way through the penalty area and low into the right hand corner which boosted Niall Currie's men. Then on 58 the away side were awarded a penalty when Chris Kelly tried to block a cross from the left, but the ball made contact with his outstretched arm. Lo

Irish Cup Quarter Finalists!

For only the second time in our history, we have reached the Quarter Finals of the Tennents Irish Cup! Joshua McIlwaine's header on 18 minutes was just enough to separate the sides in a tense encounter at Ferney Park tonight, with the Mallards defence standing firm despite a second half aerial bombardment from Carrick. Both sides seen efforts cleared off the line in the second half; two by goalkeeper Aaron Hogg and one from Mallards defender Ross Taheny whilst Carrick also hit the bar. Harry McConkey's men showed great character after Saturday's heavy defeat and can now look forward to a Quarter Final at Stangmore Park on Saturday 2nd March against Dungannon Swifts.

Statsports Super Cup NI entry

Great news today with confirmation received that our application for our 2006 squad has been accepted to the Minor Section of the STATSports Super Cup NI tournament in July. We are again delighted to be able to offer young players at our Club the opportunity to play at this level. The 2006 squad currently play in Section A of the National League and participation in the Super Cup will again benefit them and of course stand him in good stead for future representation in the Super Cup at county level. We now look forward to our preparations over the coming months and to following this batch of young Mallards on the next step of their development. #statsportssupercupni

Dundela 4-0 Mallards

It wasn't a good day at the office for the Mallards who came away empty handed from the 'Hen Run'. There's precious little time to lick our wounds however, as we have an Irish Cup game on Monday evening at home to Carrick Rangers. The Reserves fared better with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Larne Olympic. Jacob Britton gave them the lead before the break from the penalty spot and Matthew Dixon added a second on 50 minutes. Larne ended the game with 9 men and Adam McCrea scored the third and final goal of the day, finishing off a neat move.
