McEvoy & O'Reilly move on

Defenders Sean McEvoy and Ryan O'Reilly will unfortunately not be plying their trade at Ferney Park next season as they move onto pastures new, in news that is sure to disappoint Mallard supporters. Teenage star McEvoy will join League of Ireland Division One side Bray Wanderers whilst O'Reilly will link up with Danske Bank Premiership side Cliftonville. Whilst saddened to lose his talents, manager Harry McConkey paid tribute to both players; "I spent the morning with the McEvoy family in Virginia as I wanted to pass on my thanks for their contribution to the Club both on and off the field. Protocols for use of Ballinamallard Fisher Park 3G facility during coronavirus pandemic. (From 17th July 2020) Pre-Training and Match Playing Participants to enter Fisher Park via lower gates. One-way system to be observed. Facility fabric e.g. Gates, locks, corner flags, portable goals, and all other equipment to be sanitised by staff. No car sharing on travel to facility. Participants to arrive in training/match gear with personal water marked with your name. Water bottle to be disposed of by user No shared use of water and no other personal belongings. Premier League Predictor winner

We were delighted to have Ross McIlwaine attend the club this evening to collect his £1,000 winning cheque after he successfully outplayed everyone to predict 8 out of 10 results in our recent Premier League Predictor Competition. The successful fundraiser was also sponsored by our Academy Sponsor, Beatty Fuels and the funds raised will go directly to supporting all the young players in the Academy. Academy coaching re-structure

As we approach the return to football the Academy would like to announce exciting new changes we have made to our coaching structure from next season onwards. The Academy have decided to appoint head coaches at each age group from Under 12 to Under 20 wherein as the players move through the age groups they move on to a new coach each season. Head of Youth Development Derek Sharpe explains the reasoning behind the move; “This is something I have thought about for a while as it can be very difficult for volunteer coaches to keep pace with developing players from Under 6 all the way to Under 18. 8 weeks of Coach Education completed Last night rounded off our Academy Coach Zoom Education programme which ran for a total of 8 weeks during lockdown, engaging Coaches to present and discuss various topics.
