Ballinamallard 1-2 Carrick Rangers

Carrick kept up their promotion push and bounced back from Monday nights defeat with another vital 3 points.

The first half was very limited in chances with both sides evenly matched, but it was the Mallards who were to strike first on 39 minutes. Chris Kelly picked up a loose ball and threaded a pass through to Ryan Campbell who fired past Aaron Hogg.

Rangers equalised on 53 minutes with Caolan Loughran's strike from distance finding it's way through the penalty area and low into the right hand corner which boosted Niall Currie's men.

Then on 58 the away side were awarded a penalty when Chris Kelly tried to block a cross from the left, but the ball made contact with his outstretched arm. Loughran scored his second from the spot.

The Mallards searched for an equaliser and almost got one right at the death. Aaron Hogg stood tall to superbly save Robbie Hume's shot and then Richard Clarke's follow up shot was cleared off the line.
