Mallards exit NW Cup on penalties

Our defence of the North West Senior Cup comes to an end at the first hurdle, losing on penalties after extra time.

After a scoreless first half the game picked up with McCartney hitting the crossbar with a free kick.

Limavady were first to score through Dean Brown but the lead lasted only minutes with Darragh McBrien equalising, converting John Edgar’s cut ball.

Ryan Campbell seen a header saved on the line before full time and despite heavy pressure from the home side in extra time they couldn’t find a way through.

Both keepers saved spot kicks with Limavady edging it to move into the Semi Finals, and our congratulations to them.
