Ballinamallard 2-0 Queens Uni

It was nervy at times, but another victory and clean sheet is hard to beat!

Ryan Campbell scored for the third successive game early in the first half and despite controlling the majority of the first 45, the Mallards couldn't quite find a further breakthrough.

Queens were showing signs of danger and held their own throughout the game, with a second goal proving illusive for Ballinamallard.

Ryan O'Reilly, Chris Kelly and Nathan Cashel all had attempts at goal with goalkeeper Conor Lally producing a fingertip save to deny the former.

Ronan Young let Ballinamallard off the hook when he flashed a shot past Connolly but wide of goal when well placed before a critical second goal arrived minutes before time.

Nathan Cashel crossed from the right and Lally clawed the ball out from under the crossbar; but John Edgar was waiting and he controlled and showed a composed finish to clear the nerves.

That result moves Harry McConkey's men into third place ahead of a visit to the PSNI at the Dub next Saturday.
