Ballinamallard 2-2 Glentoran

There was late heartbreak for the Mallards in this thrilling encounter at Ferney Park.

The home side looked to be set to take all 3 points after an excellent performance, but a James Knowles free kick deep into injury time gave Gary Haveron's men a point.

Sean Noble scored his second in two games after 12 minutes, when he slotted the ball past Elliott Morris after Shane McGinty had played him in on goal.

Morris then pulled off an excellent stop to deny James McKenna before Glentoran equalised on 19 minutes when a free kick from wide ghosted through a packed penalty area and into the net.

Both sides had further chances before the home side were awarded a penalty on 39 minutes with Shane McGinty fouled. Ryan Curran made no mistake from the spot to take his tally to 8 for the season.

Then on the stroke of half time, Noble smashed a free kick off the crossbar with Morris saving the follow up.

The second half was tight between the sides with Glentoran just shading proceedings, but the game should have been dead and buried with 20 minutes remaining. Noble advanced down the right and crossed for O'Flynn on the goaline; the striker made contact but Morris got across to block, and despite furious protests, the assistant referee advised that the ball hadn't crossed the line.

Immediately after, Brush made a stunning save to deny Curtis Allen with his feet whilst Noble had another good chance to kill the game off only for a last ditch tackle.

Glentoran pushed for an equaliser as we ticked into injury time, but Ballinamallard threw bodies in the way of everything! However deep into injury time James Knowles struck a low free kick around the wall and past Brush for the equaliser.

Despite victory slipping from their grasp, the gap on Carrick Rangers closes to four points and there are a huge positives to take forward.
