As we enter a new season, we are again appealing for volunteers to come forward and help the club that we all love so dearly. Only this week, the fantastic work of our volunteers was recognised when we were presented with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service - the first ever football club in NI to be awarded it.
Listed below are a summary of some of the roles that we have available for the 2016/17 season on a casual, part time, or full time basis.
Most of the roles can be filled on a rota basis and full training will be given for each role and you don't have to be on a committee to join in! It can be a great way to help build your CV, or simply just to help out your local Irish league club.
Finally, if you think you have a skill that may of benefit to the club, then get in touch via email at email@example.com, or speak with Chairman Jeff Aiken, Vice-Chairman Noel Fallis or Secretary Richard McBride.
Club stewards attend on matchdays for the first team, and also neutral games such as F&W cup games. They are involved in a variety of roles including crowd safety, signposting, player safety and car parking. If you would like to add your name to the rota, then please contact Garry Armstrong or Mervyn Byers.
Our match programme ‘Mallard Mail’ has been published for 4 seasons now and has proved popular with both home and away supporters. We require people to write articles, improve graphics, edit and sell Mallard Mail. If you think you can be of help then please contact Mark Emerson or Tom Elliott
The post holder will be responsible for announcements on match days regarding teams, goalscorers, substitutions, events, fixtures and safety announcements. For further information, speak with Mark Emerson.
We require turnstile operators to work on a rota basis for both the home and away turnstiles, with full training provided. For further information speak to Basil Wallace.
Doctors are required on first team match days in case of an incident which cannot be dealt with by existing club personnel. This includes incidents involving players and spectators. All Doctors on the rota will receive a free season ticket meaning that they can attend at their leisure to watch games. For further information speak to Ivan Fisher.
We require people to help in the clubhouse with regards to event planning, cleaning and general bar work. For further information speak with Robbie Watson or Maurice Hetherington.
We are always on the look out for new coaches to join our youth academy. Whether it be at mini soccer level or higher up the ladder, all are welcome to help out. For further information contact our academy director Derek Sharpe or mini soccer co-coordinator Robert Coulter.
