Dykes adds four signings

Gavin Dykes has added another 4 faces to his squad ahead of the 2016/17 Danske Bank Premier League campaign which kicks off on Saturday 6th August at home to Linfield.

Goalkeeper James McGrath has returned to the club after a spell with Glenavon, during which he won the Tennents Irish Cup. The Belcoo man will fight it out with Stefan McCusker for the number 1 jersey, and he made 22 appearances during our Championship winning season.

In addition, Dykes has used his contacts to land an additional 3 signings from his previous clubs.

Defender Ryan McConnell arrives on a 1 year loan deal from Finn Harps, Striker Liam Flatley has also signed from Harps, whilst defender Ryan Taheny has signed from Sligo Rovers.

McConnell can play at right back or centre back and has cross channel experience, and has elected to join the Mallards to gain some minutes after a frustrating spell at Harps.

Flatley is a ROI Youth International, and scored 2 against Abbey Villa before picking up a minor injury. The frontman was previously at Sligo Rovers but moved to Finn Harps in February of this year.

Taheny is a former Captain of Sligo Rovers U19s and again has ROI Youth International experience. He is a centre half who has also represented the Irish Universities.

Boss Dykes has worked with all 3 previously and rates them all as 'top class'. He hopes that all 3 will strengthen in the areas that we need and that they will provide pace and energy to the side.

We would like to welcome all 3 players to the club and wish them the best of luck.
