McGinty becomes Dykes first signing

Boss Gavin Dykes has made his first signing as Ballinamallard manager, with 22 year old Shane McGinty joining from Institute.

McGinty played in both legs of the playoff between the sides, and scored a fine long range effort at Ferney Park. The ex-Coleraine and Finn Harps player was awarded the NIFL Championship Player of the Month award in February after scoring 2 hat tricks in 3 games, which helped him to reach over 20 goals last season for the North West side.

A number of clubs were seeking the talented youngster’s signature, but having previously worked with Dykes at Sligo, McGinty has opted to join the Mallards.
