Gavin Dykes appointed as Head Coach

Ballinamallard United FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Gavin Dykes as Head Coach to replace Whitey Anderson from the end of the current season.

Dykes moves from his position as assistant manager at Finn Harps, and comes with 30 years experience of playing and managing on both sides of the border.

Our new Head Coach played almost 400 games for Rovers, for whom he was Club Captain, and won the treble in 1994, before a successful period at Derry City where he also won the league in 1997.

Dykes has managed both Newry Town and Derry City whilst he was first team coach at Sligo Rovers when the club won the league in 2012, FAI Cup in 2013 and Setanta Cup in 2014.

Prior to joining Finn Harps, Dykes was Head of Youth Development at Sligo Rovers and he oversaw a period of great success for the club's underage structure with 17 young players earning international recognition at various levels, and a number progressing to become established first team players

Ballinamallard Chairman Jeff Aiken commented “We are delighted to get a man of Gavin`s experience on board and I'm confident that he will be able to build on the successes of Whitey Anderson. His knowledge of the local game and his proven track record in the development of youth were an obvious attraction for the club. We are moving into a post Whitey era, but we believe we have the right man to take the club forward and we welcome Gavin to the club."
