January player of the month

2016 began with two away games to Coleraine, with one in the cup and one in the league, followed by an away defeat to Cliftonville and a morale raising victory at home to Ballymena United.

As always, the player of the month vote was closely contested with Shane McCabe pushing David Elliott all the away, but Elliott narrowly beat the midfielder to claim January's award.

The Magheraveely lad, who made his first start appearance of 2015/16 in December against Linfield, has impressed since being promoted from the Seconds and has added a great balance to the side at left full back.

Elliott has started every game since and has 7 appearances this season, however his first team debut came back in October 2014 against Institute in the League Cup.
