Ballinamallard 4-2 Ballymena
Ballinamallard move up to ninth in the table thanks to this resounding 4-2 victory at Ferney Park, their first since the end of October.
New signings Stephen O'Flynn, Ivan Sproule and Jake Dykes all made their home debuts with O'Flynn and Sproule impressing highly.
The Mallards set the tempo from the off, with O'Flynn causing Ballymena all sorts of problems. The frontman was denied a penalty early on with referee Evan Boyce adjudging Alan Blayney to have got a hand to the ball in a highly controversial moment.
James McKenna then almost opened the scoring but he couldn't quite meet Shane McCabe's cross, but it wasn't long before the midfielder got his fourth of the season, when he latched onto Ivan Sproule's cross from the right on 32 minutes.
O'Flynn was to go closest next, when he flicked Johnny Lafferty's header goalward but Alan Blayney clawed off the line.
The big striker wasn't to be denied however, and he got a debut goal just before half time when his free kick was deflected into the net.
Ballymena turned the game on it's head however immediately after the break when Matthew Tipton headed in from close range.
With the game on a knife edge, and Ballymena improving, Ballinamallard got a vital third goal. Sproule was the architect again when he crossed from the right, and substitute Ryan Campbell deflected the ball into the net.
Campbell then used his pace to round Kyle McVey and win a penalty on 63 minutes which Jason McCartney duly dispatched to make it 4-1.
Leeroy Millar added a consolation goal on 91 minutes for Ballymena to leave the score 4-2.
