December player of the month

The halfway point in the Danske Bank Premier League was surpassed at the start of December with a 4-2 loss at home to Glentoran but that was followed by a morale raising 1-1 draw at Windsor Park.

A fixture switch meant that Carrick Rangers visited Ferney Park next which resulted in a depressing 2-1 loss, whilst in our last game on Boxing day, we were unlucky not to come away with all three points, meaning that we ended December with 2 points from a possible 12.

Our player of the month poll has again been close with Alvin Rouse, Colm McLaughlin and Emmet Friars all featuring strongly in the votes.

Jason McCartney also received recognition for his goal and two assists in the month, whilst James McKenna's recent good form was also noted, despite him only playing in 2 and a half of the games.

However December's player of the month has been awarded to Colm McLaughlin who featured in all four games.

Last season's player of the year has been close to winning the previous monthly awards but the defender has been very impressive overall since his shift to centre half in September and will no doubt continue to improve.
