Ballinamallard 2-4 Glentoran
Glentoran recorded their second successive win with a 4-2 victory over Ballinamallard on Saturday.
It was the away side that took the lead in this exciting match, played in horrendous conditions, on 23 minutes. Stefan McCusker initially saved Curtis Allen's shot, but Fra McCaffrey was on hand to follow up for a tap in.
The Mallards hit back however before half time with a fine goal. Jason McCartney crossed from the right and Steve Feeney laid the ball off for the oncoming Adam Lecky who slid the ball under Elliott Morris.
Glentoran regained the lead on 54 minutes when Steve McCullough's cross from the right was diverted into the net by youngster Jonathon Smith.
There were more goals to come however. On 63 minutes Elliott Morris was adjudged to have handled outside his penalty area and despite the initial shot being blocked, the follow up by Jason McCartney struck a Glentoran hand, and referee Raymond Crangle awarded a penalty which McCartney dispatched.
The East Belfast side were the ones to seize the initiative however and scored a further two goals before the end of the game.
McCaffrey added a second for him with a deflected strike, before Curtis Allen completed the scoring on 83 minutes.
The winner of the half time draw as ticket number 13338 and was claimed by Ben Quinn.
