Ballinamallard 3-0 Warrenpoint

Ballinamallard secured a second consecutive 3-0 win with second half goals at Ferney Park on Friday night, to complete a successful October.

The Mallards won 4 of their 6 October fixtures, drawing 1 and losing 1, in a month which also seen them progress to the quarter finals of the JBE League Cup.

Bottom of the table Warrenpoint had the better of the opening chances, with the strong wind dictating much of the play.

Liam Bagnall was denied by Alvin Rouse when 1 on 1 whilst Stephen Hughes was unable to capitalise on the rebound. The Mallards played some neat football at times, but struggled in the final third to find that breakthrough.

It was all change in the second half however, with the wind at their backs Ballinamallard got the opener on 54 minutes when Michael McCrudden redirected Johnny Lafferty's shot into the net from close range.

The home side had further chances to score, with skipper Steve Feeney firing over the bar when well placed but the second arrived on 72 minutes when Martin scored from an acute angle after good work by Feeney.

The third arrived on 90 minutes, when Ryan Campbell beat the offside trap and emphatically powered the ball past Aaron Shanahan to record his 30th senior goal for the club.

That result lifts Ballinamallard into eighth in the table ahead of Saturday's fixtures, and leaves them 11 points clear of bottom placed Warrenpoint.

The half time draw was won by Seamus Lynch from Coa with ticket number 12823.
