Ramapo Valley visit the club

Former Mallard, Graham Brown returns to his roots tomorrow (Friday) with a visit to Ballinamallard United as his Ramapo Valley Soccer Club U-17 squad from New York State take on our U-16s/17s. The game at Fisher Park kicks off at 1:00 pm.

Graham’s squad are on a two week visit to Ireland with games against Cherry Orchard and Ballinamallard before playing in the Foyle Cup next week with a final game against Moville FC.

Graham is currently the Head Coach of St Thomas Aquinas College in New York as well as Director of Coaching at his local Club. He regularly keeps tabs on Ballinamallard United through social media and is delighted to once again bring an American team to the place which he feels launched his career path in football, “Returning to Ferney Park is always something special for me, and not just because the Club has made massive strides in their programme, but more because of the people involved in the Club and indeed the local village.”

Graham last visited in 2013 when his U-16 Ramapo side reached the semi final of the Foyle Cup only to lose to Glentoran on penalty kicks. The experience gained however stood to his young side as they climbed to a fifth placed ranking in the entire country on their return home.

Graham also plans to use his visit to take a look at some local talent with a scholarship to his college team a possibility, as he is set to lose no less than 12 players in 2016 due to graduation from College.

We look forward to welcoming Graham and his young squad to Fisher Park and do call in to see him if you can.
