Ballinamallard 5-0 PSNI

The Mallards turned out a five star performance at Ferney Park to ruthlessly sweep aside their opponents.

Some of the football played was a joy to watch and bared all the hallmarks of a team brimming with confidence.

Ryan Campbell set them on their way early in the game, capitalising on a loose defensive pass before firing into the net.

Jay McCartney made it 2-0 then, scoring his 51st club goal, following in on the rebound after the PSNI goalkeeper had made two fantastic stops.

Campbell then netted his second of the afternoon to round off a dominant first 45 minutes.

It didn't take the Rocket long after the break to notch up his hatrick and his 16th of the season, much to the delight of the home support, before he was substituted mid way through the half.

Nathan Cashel, Jason McCartney, Joshua McIlwaine, Ryan O'Reilly and Alex Holder all spurned decent chances to extend the lead further, with Cashel eventually getting the fifth goal.

McCartney rolled back the years with a fine run down the left and he crossed for the Kesh man to smash the ball home.

With next weeks visitors Loughgall losing narrowly to Portadown, the victory strengthens Ballinamallard's grip on second place.
