Ballinamallard 1-1 Ards

Chris Kelly's 91st minute header secured another point for Ballinamallard, having endured a frustrating 90 minutes prior to that!

The first half seen very few attempts on target with Ards taking the lead on 21 minutes. Matthew Smyth was penalised for a handball during an attempted block and whilst John Connolly saved Craig McMillan's penalty, he couldn't stop the rebound.

Smyth almost made amends on 36 minutes heading a McManus free kick off the crossbar but the Mallards remained behind at the break.

Cashel and Campbell both went close for the home side whilst the lively Eamon McAllister drew a save from Connolly early after the restart.

The Mallards piled on the pressure in the closing stages with Campbell and McEvoy both having shots cleared off the line whilst Ryan O'Reilly claimed for a penalty having been brought to the ground when going to head the ball.

On 89 minutes Captain Duwayne McManus inswinging corner was somehow cleared off the line by the Ards defence before Kelly headed in Taheny's cross from the left to draw level.

We are at home again next Saturday against Ballyclare Comrades.
