Taheny & O'Reilly agree terms

Harry McConkey last night agreed terms with defenders Ross Taheny and Ryan O'Reilly for next season which is a huge boost ahead of some vital upcoming games for Ballinamallard.

Both players have been stand out performers this season at the heart of our defence which has seen 11 clean sheets and the third lowest goals against column in the Bluefin Sport Championship.

McConkey was understandably delighted to have both players on board for the future. "We must build on the foundations we have created this season and to do that we need to keep continuity in our ranks and retain our experience to help lead our youngsters. Ross and Ryan are two fabulous professionals and will be key players for us going forward, and I'm thankful to have them both on board".

21 year old Taheny is closing in on his 100th appearance for the club, having just missed a single game all season, whilst 23 year old O'Reilly has made 38 appearances since joining in the January transfer window in 2018.

"Both players are really settled at the club and had no hesitation in agreeing terms with me. We have a great togetherness in the camp and I want them all to feel valued for their efforts this season" commented McConkey.

"It has been a real learning curve for us all and a difficult challenge, but one that we have embraced. I have been speaking with all members of the squad over the last few days and weeks and the response has been positive. We aim to agree terms with further players in the not so distance future ahead of next season".
