Ballinamallard 3-0 PSNI

Harry McConkey's men moved up to ninth in the Bluefin Sport Championship tonight with a comfortable home win. That result also moves us to within two points of Knockbreda in eighth who suffered defeat to Ballyclare.

The home side dominated possession in the first half and carved out their first chance of the evening on 12 minutes; Ross Taheny crossed from the right and Joshua McIlwaine side footed goalwards only for the PSNI defender to head off the goal line.

Both Richard Clarke and Ryan Campbell spurned good opportunities before a deserved goal came on 37 minutes. Joshua McIlwaine beat goalkeeper Jordan Williamson to a through ball, poking it under him goalwards and Ryan Campbell followed in to ensure the Mallards took the lead.

In five second half minutes the points were secured with two quick fire goals. Joshua McIlwaine headed in Darragh McBrien's corner on 57 minutes for 2-0 and then Campbell scored a break away third on 62, racing from the halfway line and smashing the ball past Williamson for 3-0.

Unfortunately the win came at a price however with McBrien forced off with a worrying hamstring injury and substitute Glynn lasting a matter of minutes having injured his shoulder.

We are home again this incoming Saturday with Loughgall the visitors to Ferney Park. Kick off is 3pm.
