Ballinamallard 2-0 H&W Welders

Three points and a clean sheet is all that matters to Ballinamallard today as we collect our first win since the opening day of the season.

The Welders shaded the first half proceedings although the Mallards had the best chance, with Ryan Brown denying Richard Clarke from 6 yards.

McBrien and Graham had chances for each side whilst the Belfast side had a huge penalty claim turned away when Ryan O'Reilly appeared to block a shot with his hands.

After the interval David Graham hit the post on 51 minutes for the Welders, pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty area before the opening goal arrived on 77 minutes. Ryan Campbell took the ball to feet, held off his marker, turned and shot low past Brown.

The Mallards were unlucky not to score again on 82 when they took a quick free kick and Nathan Cashel hit the post from an acute angle, before the second goal did arrive on 89; Ryan O'Reilly showing great technique to volley in from 25 yards!

A much needed result for us which will hopefully give us a platform to build from.

Well done all!
