Reserves into Round 3 of the Junior

Our Reserves progressed into Round 3 of the Fonacab Junior Cup with a hard fought win in difficult circumstances.

After a scoreless first half in very wet conditions, and after an unfortunate red card, the young Mallards eventually took the lead three quarters of the way through the game. A piece of individual brilliance and creativity from Lorcan McGrady gave them a deserved lead after much pressure.

With time almost up and victory in sight, a second bookable offence reduced the home side to 9 men and right at the death Greysteel struck an equaliser.

A spirited extra time performance from the 9 men seen them score again, this time Adam McCrea heading home an excellent cross to secure the win.

Well done to the players and management on another terrific result, and they wish to pass on their thanks to all who came out and supported them today.
