Davy Kee returns on loan

Ballinamallard fans will be thrilled with the news that midfielder David Kee has returned to the club on loan after a two and a half year absence, and becomes out sixth January signing.

The Killen man originally signed for the Mallards in January 2009 but his impressive performances caught the eye of Linfield, whom he eventually joined in the summer of 2015 after initially rejecting their approaches. He made an immediate impact with a goal in the Europa League away to Slovakian team Spartak Trnava before unfortunately falling out of favour after a change of manager, and he joined Coleraine in October 2016 where he was immediately appointed Captain by Oran Kearney.

At the start of the 2017/18 season, Kee required an operation to repair a long standing injury and such has been the incredible form of the title challenging Bannsiders, he has been unable to force his way back into the team.

As a result, Gavin Dykes has swooped to acquire him until the end of the season to help drive the Mallards off the bottom of the table and towards Premier League survival. “I’m delighted to get Keesy on board. He’s a quality player who knows this club inside out and he will give us great energy, leadership and experience for the remainder of the season” commented Dykes. “We have great competition for places now, and players need to step up and perform or they will be on the sideline on the Saturday”.
