Ballinamallard 1-1 Cliftonville

The Mallards gain their first point of the 2017/18 season with a hard earned draw at home to Cliftonville.

The home side took the lead mid way through the first half with Ryan Curran converting his third penalty of the season, after Richard Clarke's goalbound shot was handled.

Barry Gray's side equalised not long after however with Gary Breen heading in unchallenged.

Cliftonville started the second half brightly and it took new loanee Aaron Canning to clear off the line to keep the Mallards level and with 2 left, Joe Gormley thought that he had snatched the winner with a fine curling effort, only to see the linesman raise his flag.

The U20s also secured a point away to Cliftonville Olympic with Calvin McKinlay giving them the lead, only for Olympic to equalise.

Well done to both teams!
