Gordon Lee elected as Chairman

Longstanding and respected Club Member Gordon Lee was elected as the new Chairman of Ballinamallard United FC at Wednesday evening's AGM, with Jeff Aiken stepping aside after 3 years.

Gordon has been associated with Ballinamallard since joining the club as a 23 year old player in 1984, and he represented us at both Fermanagh & Western and 'B' Division level. His final year of playing was also combined with management of the Reserves who claimed the Mercer League Cup in the 2001/02 season. He would later go onto manage on Reserves for a second time whilst he also has experience of coaching with Ballinamallard at youth level in the 90s.

A man of vast football experience, Gordon had previously served 25 years on the committee of Ballinamallard and held the post of Vice-Chairman for a period under Gerry Byers. He also has experience of acting as Secretary for both our U18s and Reserves and has held the post of Chairman on the Irish FA Junior Committee for the past 2 years, whilst also acting as the Fermanagh & Western FA treasurer for the past 9 years.

Upon his appointment at the AGM Gordon commented to the members present, "I would like to firstly thank the outgoing Chairman Jeff Aiken for his fantastic work over the past number of seasons, and whilst I am sad to see him leave the post, I understand his reasoning for it. I am looking forward to continuing where Jeff has left off and would ask for everyone's support as we all try to progress Ballinamallard United FC - a club that means a lot to me personally, to those present in the room, and to those who cannot be here this evening".

Noel Fallis was re-elected as Vice Chairman for a third consecutive year, Richard McBride was re-elected as Secretary for a second consecutive year and Jonathan Poots was re-elected as Treasurer for a sixth consecutive year.

We wish all our office bearers the best of luck for the 2017/18 season.
