Ballinamallard 3-0 Glentoran

The Mallards remain unbeaten against Glentoran in all 4 Premier League games this season, with a third victory at Ferney Park this afternoon. After the match Dykes hailed his players as being 'fantastic to a man' and credited a 'huge win after 5 defeats on the bounce'. It was Glentoran however who thought they had taken the lead after just 2 minutes but mid celebration, the referee consulted his assistant who ruled that the goalscorer Curtis Allen was in an offside position. On 17 minutes the home side took the lead, when Ryan Mayse deflected Ryan Curran's shot past Elliott Morris for eighth of the season, and he is now just 3 goals off equaling Adam Lecky. Things got even better then before half time when Colm McLaughlin followed in Niall Owens fine free kick, which Elliott Morris had pushed against the post. Shane McGinty added the third to cap another excellent performance, when he ran from the half way line, beating several players and then scoring at the second attempt after his initial shot was saved. The Mallards could have added further goals, but it was the three points that matters! That result, combined with Carrick's defeat to Portadown, leaves Ballinamallard 11 points clear of the playoff position with 12 points left to play for.
