Ballinamallard 2-1 Glentoran

The Mallards claimed their first win since the first weekend in October, at home to Glentoran.

The result was a welcome boost ahead of critical games against Dungannon, Portadown and Carrick over the next few weeks.

The away side had the better of the first half chances with O'Flynn heading narrowly off target and Allen forcing Crawford into a couple of saves.

At the other end, Morris denied Lafferty on the counter attack whilst Adam Lecky had a penalty appeal turned away after being nudged in the back by Birney.

As the teams left for the half time interval, there was an altercation between Lafferty and Gordon, with the former being shown a yellow card, and the latter a red.

The home side took full advantage with 2 goals at the start of the second half. Shane McGinty won a free kick on the edge of the penalty area, and Ryan Mayse fired into the bottom corner of the net.

Substitute Joshua McIlwaine got the second with an emphatic finish high into the roof of the net, after turning and shooting inside the box.

Glentoran continued to press forward and scored on 90 minutes when Jay Magee netted a free kick.

The half time draw winner was Gary Reid with ticket number 201640.
