Liam Martin departs for Sligo

As ever within a transfer window, there are inevitably departures as well as arrivals, and Ballinamallard Utd FC can today confirm that Liam Martin will be leaving to join Sligo Rovers.

The 21 year old initially joined the Mallards on loan from Rovers in 2012, and played in the first half of our debut season in the Irish Premier League, appearing 27 times and scoring 2 goals.

He then rejoined the club on a permanent basis in January 2014 and has gone onto make 82 appearances and score 14.

Martin won both our players and supporters player of the year last season, and is currently our joint top goalscorer with 5 goals. His final goal in a Ballinamallard shirt was against Warrenpoint Town on 30th October 2015.

Manager Whitey Anderson commented, "I wish Liam all the best at Sligo, and in the future. The move is the right one for both Ballinamallard and himself".

Ballinamallard Utd FC would like to thank Liam for his efforts during his two spells at the club, and wish him well in his new challenge.
