Portadown 0-0 Ballinamallard

Ballinamallard battled to earn a point in a scrappy game at Shamrock Park, played on a poor and narrowed surface.

In a game of few chances, it was goalkeeper Stefan McCusker who made the save of the game to deny Gary Twigg, whose close range header was tipped onto the post.

The Mallards started the game brightly with chances for Sproule and Lafferty but they failed to find the target whilst Garrett was also off target for the hosts.

Jake Dykes and Emmet Friars both went close for the Mallards but it was a game of very few chances.

With four games remaining, the 4 teams at the bottom remain as they were after a draw in Warrenpoint against Carrick.

On Friday evening the Seconds lost 5-1 to table topping Cliftonville Olympic whilst the Thirds recorded their unbeaten league run to 12 games with a 5-2 home win over Knockbreda. Kyle Coalter got 2 along with James Edgar, Philip Beacom and Ben McCann.
