February player of the month
As we get to the business end of the season, we seen two home victories against Portadown and Glentoran, but two poor performances and defeats away to Warrenpoint and Dungannon.
The February player of the month vote was closely contested between James McKenna and Shane McCabe, who have both impressed, whilst Emmet Friars and Jake Dykes also received recognition.
McCabe was close to winning our January vote and his good form has continued into February, were he played the full quota in each game, but also picked up two yellow cards. The midfielder has started to show his quality and picked up the sponsors man of the match award against Portadown.
McKenna also played in all four games but was substituted in two of them, however he contributed the winning goal against Portadown, and assisted Adam Lecky for his goal on Saturday. The midfielder slotted in at right back against Glentoran and produced another assured performance.
With the votes counted tonight, James McKenna has been awarded our February player of the month, beating Shane McCabe by a solitary vote, 6 to 5. Well done James!
