Portadown 0-3 Ballinamallard
Ballinamallard continued their rich vein of form with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Shamrock Park; their first in the premier league.
Portadown's best chance of the first half fell for Gary Twigg, but Rouse comfortably saved. Adam Lecky was unlucky not to open the scoring for the Mallards but his shot was cleared off the line by Sean Mackle, whilst Liam Martin also went close only to be denied by Chris Casement.
A quickfire double at the start of the second half laid the foundations for the victory however. On 60 minutes Liam Martin headed Jason McCartney's cross past the outcoming David Miskelly and straight from the restart Ryan Campbell got his first of the season when he lobbed Miskelly, after being put through on goal by Johnny Lafferty.
Liam Martin got his second of the game with a lovely curling effort into the top corner of the net, to seal an emphatic victory and condemn Portadown to a fourth defeat in a row.
At Ferney Park, the seconds ran out 3-2 victors over Portadown reserves in an entertaining game. The Ports took the lead on 10 minutes but Kane Connor levelled from close range. Straight from the kick off William Donaghy put the home side ahead but Portadown were level again when Leon Carters sliced a clearance into his own net. There was more drama before half time when James McKenna was shown a second yellow card after a scuffle in the penalty area.
The Mallards got the winner in the second half with a well worked free kick, and Jack Thompson fired in for victory.
Elsewhere, the thirds dropped their first points of the season with a 3-3 draw away to Dundela Youth.
