Ballymena 1-1 Ballinamallard

Loan signing Gareth Rodger earned Ballymena United a point in a dramatic conclusion to this encounter at The Showgrounds.

The visitors made the brighter start to the game and Michael McCrudden did well early on to turn and get a shot away inside the box while, not long after, Liam Martin headed just over from close range.

The game roared into life on 34 minutes when Evan Boyce showed two straight red cards to Michael Ruddy and Shane McCabe.

Ruddy was dismissed initially for a challenge on McCabe but the Ballinamallard man followed him seconds later for retaliation.

The Mallards moved in front on 67 minutes after McCrudden drilled the ball past Dwayne Nelson when Steve Feeney had touched on a Martin cross from the left.

But Ballymena rallied to salvage a point in a dramatic closing period which saw David Cushley strike the woodwork before Gareth Rodger sent a ball into the top corner five minutes into stoppage time.
