Ballinamallard 1-0 Portadown

It was nervy, but the 10 men of Ballinamallard got a crucial victory at Ferney Park on Friday evening. The Ports could have closed the gap to 9 points with a win, but instead it expands to 15 - had the Ports not beaten the Mallards twice already, that gap would perhaps be insurmountable. Crawford denied Hughes with the opening chance of the match, before O'Hara somehow headed wide from a corner when well placed. McIlwaine also had an excellent chance with a header but he couldn't connect properly. On 31 minutes the home side were reduced to 10 men when Ross Taheny was sent off for a tackle on Aaron Haire. Johnny Lafferty appeared to be on the cover but referee Tavinder showed the defender a

Dungannon 3-2 Ballinamallard

It was a festive cracker at Stangmore Park on Monday - late goals, sendings off and wild celebrations! Despite dominating much of the fist half, the Swifts went in behind at half time thanks to Jason McCartney's 26th minute goal. The Swifts hit back from the penalty spot with Andrew Mitchell netting, and with the momentum, they took the lead. Paul McElroy's header going through the hands of Crawford. With 4 minutes left however the Mallards equalised via Joshua McIlwaine, scoring in successive games, but Mitchell popped up seconds later to snatch victory for the Swifts. Ryan Mayse almost pulled it back to 3-3 with seconds remaining, but his shot went narrowly wide.

Ballinamallard 2-1 Glentoran

The Mallards claimed their first win since the first weekend in October, at home to Glentoran. The result was a welcome boost ahead of critical games against Dungannon, Portadown and Carrick over the next few weeks. The away side had the better of the first half chances with O'Flynn heading narrowly off target and Allen forcing Crawford into a couple of saves. At the other end, Morris denied Lafferty on the counter attack whilst Adam Lecky had a penalty appeal turned away after being nudged in the back by Birney. As the teams left for the half time interval, there was an altercation between Lafferty and Gordon, with the former being shown a yellow card, and the latter a red. The home side to

Ballinamallard 0-1 Crusaders

Stephen Baxter's men continue to lead the way in the Danske Bank Premier League, after this narrow win at Ferney Park. The Mallards had their chances and should have been 2 ahead within the opening 15 minutes only for some heroic defending. Johnny Lafferty appeared to be through on goal but took an extra touch which allowed Howard Beverland enough time to make a block, but in his second chance, Lafferty hit the ball early and it rebounded off the crossbar, with Gault blocking Shane McGinty's follow up. Crusaders got the only goal of the game on 27 minutes when Jordan Forsythe ran unchallenged through the midfield, and struck low into the bottom left corner of the net. There wasn't much betwe

Ards 3-3 Ballinamallard

Ards came from behind three times on Friday night to deny Ballinamallard a first win since the start of October, but it's a welcome point for the Mallards having lost the last 6 league games in a row. The first half was a rather drab affair with Ards perhaps having the better of the chances - Mallards old boy Emmet Friars going closest by heading off the post. The second half exploded into life however 3 minutes after the break with Adam Lecky netting the opener after he was put through one on one with Hogg by Shane McGinty. Ards responded within minutes however when Craig McMillan netted at the second attempt after his initial shot was parried by McGrath. Lecky was at it again however secon
